Chapter 21. Checking Spelling and Using Dictionaries
Whether you’ve imported text into your document or typed it directly, you’ll probably want to check the spelling before you go to press. When InDesign checks spelling it highlights words which are misspelled or unknown, based on whatever language dictionaries you’ve assigned to your text (we discuss how to assign a language later in this chapter).

InDesign can check the spelling of a word, a selection of text, your current story, or your current document. It can also search multiple selected stories and all of your stories in all open documents.
