Appendix C. InDesign Plug-ins

When deciding to switch to InDesign, you might have wondered if your existing QuarkXPress XTensions or PageMaker plug-ins would work with InDesign. The answer is no, because XTensions and plug-ins are always customized for a particular software program. Similarly, macros and scripts that work in XPress or PageMaker will not work in InDesign.

What Are Plug-ins?

InDesign may not be able to do everything you’d want, such as the ability to easily create mathematical equations for textbook publishing, arrange pages in printers spreads for offset printing, or interact with databases.
