Chapter 14. Inkscape: A Vector Drawing Program

When you use Inkscape, it’s hard to believe that something that is this much fun and so easy to use could help you create high-quality, professional artwork. Inkscape is a drawing program in the spirit of Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, or Macromedia Freehand. The drawings you create with Inkscape are scalable vector graphics (SVG), a W3C-standard graphic format. The SVG format is fully open and based on XML. As such, there are plenty of applications that can read and write SVG files.
