Focus on Results

Is your company working the way it was designed to in the business strategy? Does that strategy energize your stakeholders? This chapter lays out ways to define and measure progress, build accountability, and avoid the trap of failure work that many executives fall into.

Many companies question whether they are doing the right things, doing things right, and getting the results they should be getting. Executives often rely on statistics collected by industry associations, which usually show industry averages, but why aim for average results? Falling in the top 25 percent of industry achievement would be good, and reaching the top 10 percent would be great.
