Showing Them You Care

Imagine that you have the choice of working for one of the following two managers. This is what you know about the two managers from your discussions with people who have worked with them:

  • Manager A. She is known as tough and ambitious. She expects hard work and long hours from employees. But she does not take much personal interest in them, and they sometimes wonder whether she even remembers their names.
