Eliminating Unfairness

Another common contaminant is unfairness. As a manager, you probably never intend to treat employees unfairly, so you wouldn't expect them to feel that you are unfair. But in truth, many employees feel like they are being treated unfairly. Perhaps they have been treated unfairly in the past, and that makes them a bit suspicious and quick to assume they are being treated unfairly now. Or maybe there are unfair policies in the organization that affect how employees feel, even if you yourself are a fair manager.
