As a motivational manager, you need informative feedback about your efforts to boost intrinsic motivation and inspire your people to perform exceptionally well. If you don't measure their level of motivation, then you are working in the dark. One good way to create an informative scoreboard for yourself is to fill in the Job Motivation Level (JML) Inventory (Exhibit A-1), a short questionnaire that breaks employee motivation down into seven separate factors and uses descriptive statements to represent each.
