1. Resolve today that when someone wants to speak with you, you will close the door, shut off your cell phone, and eliminate any disturbances so that you can focus single-mindedly on the other person.

2. Practice asking more questions and then listening attentively to the answers, without commenting or interrupting. Listening intently to another person is the very best way to build trust between the two of you, and trust is the foundation of morale and peak performance in the workplace.
