Reinforcement

This is one of the most powerful motivational techniques of all. Whatever you praise, approve, recognize, and reinforce is going to be repeated, and often over and over again. When you reinforce behavior by telling people how much you appreciate what they have done, it makes people feel terrific about themselves; as a result, they will continually seek new opportunities to repeat that same behavior so as to stimulate reinforcement. If you don’t praise and reinforce good work and positive behaviors, you are probably going to get less effort from employees.
