Brute Arc Operation

Arc operation is not difficult, but it is not something to be attempted by the uninitiated. Injury and damage to the equipment are very possible. Hands-on training from an experienced set electrician is a must. We can, however, provide some basics that will assist the electrician in preparation.

Make sure you have the right carbons. White-flame carbons (daylight-balanced shooting) are marked with a white dot. Yellow-flame carbons (tungsten-balance shooting) have a yellow dot.

Negative carbons are copper clad and about 10 inches long with a conical nose. Positives are 20 inches long with a crater at one end: this is the business end of the carbon.
