Circles of Inclusion

I’ve known for a long time that my work—my style of leadership and management—is inclusive and circular. For me, life is circular.

As I wrote in one of my first columns for this journal (“Managing in a World That Is Round,” Leader to Leader, Number 2, Fall 1996, available on our Web site at leadertoleader.org), the old, rigid hierarchies, with people in boxes and the matching hierarchical language of top-bottom, up-down, superior-subordinate, are disappearing from the world of effective organizations, agencies, corporations.
