Part III: Planning—So You Don’t Forget the Big Picture

It amazes us how many times we still hear, “But we don’t need to plan now because we are doing agile.” We agree that in agile development, we don’t do big, up-front planning all in one phase. But planning is important, and it is part of agile. We plan as we need to—just in time. Lean thinking refers to the idea of the last responsible moment, so that you don’t waste your time on details you don’t need yet.
