Creating a scrolling stock ticker
Most websites that deal with financial information have some sort of scrolling mechanism that boasts information about the latest stock this-and-that. When clients come asking for one of these, we can turn to http://www.quoterss.com/ for a free feed, or subscribe to a pay service that has even more information and may even be updated in real time.
Getting ready
First we head over to QuoteRSS.com and generate a few quote RSS feeds:
- IBM (http://www.quoterss.com/quote.php?symbol=IBM)
- Apple (http://www.quoterss.com/quote.php?symbol=AAPL)
- Google (http://www.quoterss.com/quote.php?symbol=GOOG)
