A fresh Moodle installation will occupy less than 200 MB of disk space, which is not much. However, it's better to budget for 5 GB because of plugins. The content that is added while the users create and take courses will probably grow larger than that. Base your decision on how much space to obtain upon the kinds of courses that you plan to deliver. If the courses contain mostly text and a few graphics, you'll need less space than if they contain music and video files.
