Two settings determine whether the center column of the front page shows news items, a list of courses, and/or a list of course categories. These settings are Front Page and Front page items when logged in:
Note that the front page settings apply to visitors who are not logged in. In the preceding example, we want to entice visitors with a list of the courses that we offer. However, since site news would probably not be of interest to anonymous visitors, we will show site news only to logged-in users. Each choice has its unique advantages.
