Mono is an alternative to .NET. Therefore, it can be used on Windows platforms as well. Installing Mono on Windows is easy, so in most cases the user does not face severe troubles.

The Mono development team provides an easy-to-use Windows installer, shown in Figures 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3.
