Users and dashboards

Although all users have access to dashboards and can create their own dashboards (and share them), being able to support your users in using dashboards can prevent a wild increase of dashboards.

It will also help your users in understanding what monitoring does and how it supports their daily work.

Requirements

So when discussing dashboards with your users, first try to discover if they are looking for a (low-level) technical-based dashboard or a (high-level) business-based dashboard.

Creating some documentation for your users on how to use the various dashlets, including some examples and step-by-step instructions, will greatly benefit the use and adaptation of dashboards as the means of visualizing your IT estate.
