Multitenancy

In Chapter 1, Opsview Core Basics, we discussed the roles and contacts within an Opsview system and how they allow us to define which user can see which part of the system.

But what if each group within your company has its own IT department, or maybe you are a service provider with multiple customers and don't want to set up an Opsview system per customer?

Opsview Pro offers a solution called tenancy for this, and a number of rules dictate how the tenancy works. The rules are as follows:

  • The primary role of a tenancy defines the maximum permissions available to all tenants
  • Each tenant role can define a subset of permissions based on the primary role
