Upgrading or fresh install

If you have been running Opsview Core already and have decided to move to Opsview Pro or Enterprise, upgrading is of course the most suitable path to take.

There are a number of steps involved in upgrading, which we will discuss here (if you have chosen a fresh install, you can skip the Dashboard section and continue from Prerequisites).

Dashboard

One of the major differences between Core and Pro/Enterprise is the dashboard system, which due to all its offerings will be discussed in a separate chapter (Chapter 12, Opsview Dashboards).

When upgrading, simply make a database password entry in the opsview.conf configuration file placed under /usr/local/nagios/etc as shown here:

$dashboard_dbpasswd = "changeme";
