Chapter 11. Build

You’ve identified all the components. You’ve organized them into categories, prioritized what needs to be built first, assigned names and IDs. You’ve got templates created, conventions established, and designers at the ready. Now it’s time to build the library!

The process of building a component library includes the following:

  • Clarifying contributor roles

  • Transforming templates into build file(s) suitable for building and maintaining components

  • Assigning, building, reviewing, and refining each component

  • Assembling collections of predefined pages and elements

  • Packaging templates, components, pages, and element libraries for distribution
