One of the primary challenges to the art and science of enterprise data management is that practitioners often disagree about the scope and scale of “enterprise” or what types of data should be considered for management under the umbrella of a given initiative. This brief Preface defines enterprise data management from the context that we’ll be using throughout this book.

Defining “Enterprise”
