Writing on fabric is a wonderful surprise. I first wrote on fabric during a workshop with the wonderful Charles Pearce. During my studies with Marsha Brady (not of TV fame, but simply the best lettering teacher in the world), I was given a project that involved writing on a large piece of paper. Taking the easy way out, I lettered on fabric. I immediately loved the surface: the pull, the fighting with the fabric, and the fact that I got a second chance at a letter if I wasn’t perfect on the first attempt. ...
