Canchu Lin, Carroll UniversityAnand S. Kunnathur, University of Toledo

Abstract

This study applies the cultural fit perspective to investigate the effectiveness of quality management practices. It examines quality management practices and dimensions of organizational culture based on the competing values framework, and shows their relationship. The discussion of these two organizational concerns and their relationship leads to eight propositions on what quality management practices fit what organizational cultural characteristics and how the good fit can achieve positive outcomes. The implications of these propositions for theory and practice have been further discussed in the chapter.
