As embedded systems have become increasingly software intensive and dependent upon commercial computing hardware, system integration has emerged as a major engineering challenge in the development of modern application systems. Model-based engineering practices that include systematic analyses of system architecture models early and throughout the development lifecycle can provide substantially greater confidence that the integrated system will meet design goals.
