In situations where connectivity between a mobile client and a server cannot be guaranteed, it is often helpful to implement a fat client application. A fat client application is typically a simplified version of the full application on the server. It is used to gather and store data when the mobile client is disconnected from the server and synchronize that data with the server when connectivity is re-established.
