Whether you’re doing your own mix or working with an outside mixing engineer, you need to prepare everything you recorded for the mixing process. It’s pretty much a matter of cleaning house, straightening up the mess, and wiping off the dust before you open the doors to outsiders. Still, this is an important step because the better your prep, the faster you’ll be able to dive into the mixing process proper.
