So far you’ve manipulated the timbre of sounds using EQ and modified the dynamics of sounds using compression and expansion. In this chapter, you will explore the modification of a sound’s ambience. As before, I’ve saved presets of my settings for several of the memory locations.

In nature, all sounds occur in some sort of ambient context. In addition to the direct sound that reaches our ears in a straight line from the source, we also hear the sound via indirect paths as it bounces off walls, floors, trees, cars, people, and various other obstacles.
