Overwhelmed by a lavish birthday party at an entertainment center, a young boy pauses during his state-of-the-art celebration.

Sometimes you get lucky. I was testing out the light in a rare situation where I used two strobes. I placed one in the DJ booth and bounced the light off the computer screen while my assistant held another one in the main room on the left, in anticipation of children sitting down at the table. Unexpectedly, the birthday boy wandered into the frame, his shadow filling the empty space on the wall.
