13. Minecraft and 3D Printing

How can we, as educators, get started blending Minecraft and the real world? 3D printing. With the falling prices of 3D printers and a lot of schools already owning them, 3D printing is becoming very popular as part of the upsurge in design in education.

With the engagement of Minecraft comes the perfect opportunity to embed the concept of creating objects in Minecraft and then making them in the real world. Students can go through an entire design project, learning design skills and the stages of design, being fully aware that their Minecraft creation will exist in the real world when they are finished.
