2. Working with MinecraftEdu

When I first started using Minecraft in my school there was no MinecraftEdu, so I used regular Minecraft (or as it’s usually called, vanilla Minecraft). It was tricky and tested my patience to set up a server with the various mods and plug-ins. I was fortunate that a company was offering free Minecraft hosting for schools at that point, which made life a lot easier.

As a teacher you really just want to get a Minecraft world up and running so that students can be in one world together. Some teachers use MinecraftEdu, and some use Minecraft.
