Mindfulness in the real world

In this chapter we are going to:

  • Remind you how you can best fit mindfulness into your busy life.
  • Show you how you can continue to be mindful alongside your busyness and stress going forward.
  • Recognise why and how mindfulness is so very popular, relevant and important to us now in these busy modern times.

Although mindfulness may conjure up images of beautiful yogis sitting in the lotus posture, smiling benevolently in the sunset on picturesque mountain-tops, we hope by now that we have shown you how it's not all about this at all.

Sure mindfulness began in the ancient East and is a specific practice of Zen Buddhism (from Japan) but the word ‘Buddha’ actually is an ancient Pali (from the Indian subcontinent) ...
