Porting Drupal Themes
One of the major changes in Backdrop is the shift in how page layouts are created and managed. In Drupal, the typical solution for creating and managing page layouts is through template files in the theme. Backdrop provides the ability to create and manage page layouts through the Layout module, removing the necessity to create template files for every layout you want to enable in your theme.
