What Is an Accelerated Trend?

Let's see how an accelerated trend is different from a nonaccelerated trend, how it begins, develops and ends, and how the MIDAS S/R curves behave during its run. First, though, let's examine a typical nonaccelerated trend. Look at Figure 2.11 in Chapter 2. This is a downtrend with four significant pullbacks, tracked by that fivefold hierarchy of resistance curves. Notice that each pullback comes right up to the previous R curve.
