Nominal–On Balance Volume Curves

As indicated in the introduction to this chapter, the impressive feature of the OBV line and its variants, such as Accumulation/Distribution (Intraday Intensity Index) and Larry Williams' version, is that they manage to create the three types of signals highlighted in the previous section while being an independent time series with a fully trending fractal structure. It's this aspect of the OBV line that makes it so conducive to the application of MIDAS curves in relation to the various types of confirmatory and disconfirmatory associations it has with price.
