Understanding Document Protection

As you create, edit, and manage documents, you might not always want everyone who has access to the drive to be able to open and modify all documents. Word 2010 offers a variety of ways of protecting documents. They break down into these areas:

Restricting access to the document entirely—This includes using Windows file encryption, setting network access permissions, and placing a password on the file in Word.
