Microsoft Security Essentials does a good job of catching any malware you might introduce to your system. But the best protection against malware is to not go near it in the first place. It’s simple common sense; a little effort on your part will have a major impact on the security of your system.

That said, the only sure-fire way to shield your system from computer viruses and spyware is to completely cut off all contact with other computers.
