Word 12 has been almost completely overhauled. In addition to the interface, even the basic file format is new. As a result, a lot of tried and tested knowledge about Word goes out the window. Books about Word 2000 and 2002 were still somewhat useful for users of Word 2002 and 2003. Books about Word 2003 and earlier, however, will have little utility for users of Word 2007.
