Since its introduction in 2001, the Microsoft Windows XP family has doubled in size. Initially, your choices were limited to two alternatives: Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional. In 2002, Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Windows XP Media Center Edition joined the lineup, and both of these late editions have been updated significantly in Windows XP Service Pack 2.
