Managing ActiveX Controls

ActiveX controls are compiled components that can be used by multiple programs or Web sites. Your system probably has dozens or hundreds of them because they're used by the operating system and by applications that have nothing to do with the Internet—as well as by many Web sites.

After you have downloaded an ActiveX control, you can learn more about it as follows:

  1. Choose Tools, Internet Options.

  2. On the General tab of the Internet Options dialog box, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings dialog box, click View Objects.
