Obtaining an Internet Service Provider

Earlier in this chapter, when you learned how to set up a dial-up account for an ISP, it was assumed that you already had an ISP and the phone number you would need to connect to it. However, if you haven't already done that, Windows XP can help you with this too.

After you start the New Connection Wizard for a dial-up connection and select the Connect to the Internet option, the Wizard will proceed to the dialog box shown in Figure 25.25. Obviously, if you have a CD from an ISP like AOL, you can use the third radio button and click Next. The Wizard will then instruct you to insert the CD and follow the directions the ISP's setup program provides.
