Configuring User Settings

In addition to setting policies for passwords and accounts, you can use the Group Policy Object to modify what the user sees on the desktop and the Start Menu, as well as to create logon and logoff scripts.

To access these settings, open the User Configuration folder in the left pane of the Group Policy window. Click the Windows Settings folder, as shown in Figure 15.14. The following items appear in the right pane:

  • Scripts (Logon/Logoff)

  • Security Settings

  • Internet Explorer Maintenance
