Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices

The Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices category is used to control a number of different configurations having to do with playing different kinds of media on your computer. There are three tasks available in this category:

  • Adjust the system volume

  • Change the sound scheme

  • Change the speaker settings

All three of these tasks are shortcuts to tabs on the Sounds and Audio Devices applet, a link for which is also found at the bottom of the category page. This section covers the Sounds and Audio Devices and the Speech applets, as well as the troubleshooters available in this category.
