Overview of the Command Prompt

To bring up the Command Prompt, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt. The command prompt appears, as shown in Figure 13.1.

Not much to look at, is it? The screen contains just the drive letter of the default drive for your home directory, along with your home directory's pathname.
