Startup Options

In addition to displaying the regular boot menu, another menu is lurking behind the scenes of the Windows startup process. If you have a problem booting Windows XP, the Advanced Options menu can be a lifesaver. You can display it by pressing the F8 key while the normal boot menu is showing. If your boot menu isn't shown during startup, press the F8 key once just after the POST routine finishes to display the boot menu and then press F8 again to get to the Advanced Options menu. The Advanced Options menu is shown in Figure 6.3.
