What Is the Utility Manager?

The Utility Manager can be used to automatically start up some of the accessibility features discussed in this chapter. For example, the user can employ the key combination of the Windows logo key + U at the Welcome screen before logging on. By using this key combination, users who are impaired can automatically start the accessibility features they need when logging onto the system. The features for which the Utility Manager provides support are as follows:

  • Magnifier

  • Narrator

  • On-Screen Keyboard

When the Utility Manager starts up, the Narrator also kicks on and begins reading the screen.
