Installing IIS
Although IIS is included with Windows XP, it is not installed by default unless you upgrade a computer already using IIS. Fortunately, it is pretty easy to install.
To install IIS 5.1 on Windows XP, follow these steps:
1. |
Click Start, Control Panel.
|
2. |
In the Control Panel window, click the Add or Remove Programs icon. If your Control Panel window is in classic view (where all the Control Panel icons are shown in a single window), double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon instead.
|
3. |
On the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, click Add/Remove Windows Components. This opens the Windows Components Wizard (see Figure D.1).
