Group Policy Management

Microsoft first released a technology known as Group Policy back in 2000 with the release of Windows 2000 Server and the first version of Active Directory. Since that time, the Group Policy component of Windows operating systems has grown considerably with each new operating system release. Windows Vista and Server 2008 introduced a completely new feature of Group Policy known as Group Policy Preferences, which was further enhanced in the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 releases.
