7.5. WMI Control

WMI is a sophisticated and complete database of system functions and management data that can be accessed by network management applications such as System Management Server (SMS) or Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), LANDesk, Altaris, ZenWorks, Unicenter, and Tivoli, among others. Scripts or applications in Windows Server 2008 and Vista can request WMI data using the Windows Remote Management service.
