7.2. The Initial Configuration Tasks Console

The Initial Configuration Tasks (ICT) console replaces the Manage Your Server tool that was part of Windows Server 2003. The latter is shown in Figure 7.2, while the former is shown in Figure 7.3. Although they look similar, they are actually quite different both in design and in function. Whereas Manage Your Server was the start and the end of this console, the Initial Configuration Tasks console is meant to be used a few times and then dismissed. When you click any of the command links in ICT, a wizard is launched that guides you through the setup process. In Manage Your Server the links led you directly to management utilities where you performed the tasks shown.
