8.3. Summary

In this chapter, you learned about Microsoft's new scripting and command-line environment called PowerShell. With PowerShell you can access the Windows rich object model and get those objects to perform actions and services for you. PowerShell is Microsoft's new administrator tool, and its use as the underlying command environment means that many future server applications are simply front-ends for PowerShell commands. When you use PowerShell, powerful commands come under your control, letting you query and modify both your local system as well as systems on your network.
